I recently bought a hand fed Bourkes parakeet and I have to say that this is the sweetest little bird I've ever been around. You can definetly tell that someone took alot time with him, he is so tame.
I've never been a big hookbill fan, but, I can say that if this little Bourkes is any indication of the commitement Phil has to his birds, you will definetly be getting a very nice pet.
You can tell these folks love their birds. It shows in the bird!!!
Again, my experience was very positive, Phil was very knowlegble and helpful, as well as going out of his way on a Sunday to meet me with the bird.
Thanks, Ray

Hi I am Suzanne and I got my Greeny in 2009 from Phil and I just love him. He is the SWEETEST bird. He was not a fledgling when I got him- he was a little older but still just a doll. I think Phil has some of the best tempered pet Green Cheeks to be found. My little Sweet Pea is the biggest snuggler. He is like a tiny kitten.. just content to snuggle your neck and hang out and watch TV or surf the web. Green Cheeks are very playful and love to lay on their backs. I find them to be one of the most entertaining pet birds ever! You couldn't find a better breeder to deal with. If and when I decide to get another Green Cheek.. I am going with "Something Cheeky".

So you were thinking about petsmart? I was comparing prices and reviews and I think going with "Something Cheeky" would be great. How do you think they compare?

Hands down buy from something Cheeky!!!!! the birds are healthy, you know where they come from, how they are handled, fed etc. our maroon belly we purchased from S.C. is amazing. was well handled and so healthy. she learns fast and is a joy to have. petsmart and the like get birds from many breeders then tey go to a warehouse before going to the individual stores. once at the store they arent handled. and they go from store to store untill they sell.

We brought home Tango, our extra yellow yellowsided green cheek, last June. He is a very sweet and affectionate bird and we feel very lucky to have him. We would definitely purchase another bird from Something Cheeky in the future!

I would like to encourage anyone interested in a hand fed, hand raised bird to contact Phil & Quiana. I purchased a pineapple conure from them almost two weeks ago and the bird is simply awesome! She came right to me the moment Phil let her out of the cage. It is amazing how well this bird has adapted to being around people. She has a very good appetite and likes to take baths. She sits on my shoulder indoors and outside. Her colors are very bright. I have no regrets about buying this bird. Thanks, Heath

Little "Tiki" has figured out that she really likes the fresh fruit/veggie assortment that I leave on a paper towel in the bottom of her cage. Yesterday I thought she had just scattered everything, but after looking - she did eat it all. She's very well adjusted to adapt to the chaos at my house....loves interacting and her true playful, mischievious side is coming out since she's getting more comfortable. Thanks again!!

I bought a baby from Something Cheeky last year, and she'll be 1 year old next week, on June 23, 2011. My baby girl Crimson-Bellied Conure, Tali, is so adorable! She's been the light of my life since her plane landed out here in sunny California. I did a lot of research online to find just the right breed of parrot and the right breeder for me. I found them both in South Carolina. I know that in CA there are more breeders, and that flights are expensive, but I really must tell you all who are reading this, that Phil and Quiana care deeply for their birds. Unlike the aviaries out here that just fire out baby greencheeks like crazy and honestly spend little time interacting with their 'handfed' birds, Phil and Quiana really mean it when they say they play with their birds daily, and devote their lives to making each of those birds super loving and cuddly. Their children interact with the babies as well, so they're very child-friendly, which is a super awesome bonus for me. When Tali arrived here, I introduced her to my young godson, and he was able (under hands-on supervision) to pet her back, and Tali made this little cooing sound and cuddled up to his hand for more love! It's amazing.

Plus anytime I had a question, I was able to call Phil long-distance and he was so nice and helpful at offering tips and ideas to me. I am so happy with this aviary and the quality of the bird I got, My boyfriend and I are considering coming back to adopt a little boy crismon-belly conure, too (separate cages of course).

If you're looking for a very loving, family-friendly, creative, fun, and smart little bird with a big personality, I will firstly always recommend Something Cheeky. They are truly handfed there, and the bird personalities that pop out of this aviary are simply addictively charming!

I recently bought an extra red yellow side green cheek from Phil and Quiana. My cheek is very sweet and is already starting to be comfortable with us, he's not afraid of the other pets. We had company yesterday and Nugget let everyone pet him and was at ease with everything going on around him. ( and this was his first day home ) I was surprised that he wasn't even afraid of the vacuum cleaner.

Today he started to step up, trained him by showing him a pellet, he stepped up to get it.

I highly recommend buying your parrot from Something Cheeky, very good service, they will call you if need be, and answer any questions you might have. All in all excellent service and superb birds!

Thank you Phil & Quiana, you're doing an excellent job with those birds!

Hi Phil & Quiana, that new "Banner Photo" is hilarious! to me anyway.... I guess I know the characters these little twerps REALLY are; I see right thru all the cuteness! They could be: A) the way they're all trying to look unimpressed with anything in particular (or they'd ALL be looking at it) and look completely individual with all the different colors; a 70's Progressive Rock band! or.... a classic "The Usual Suspects" police line-up! LOL what a bunch of little hooligans! How EVER do you keep them in line? ha ha ha! I can hardly wait for my little bundle of joy Crimson Belly Con!

Kiwi is the most amazing pet I have ever owned! She is a maroon bellied conure that I purchased from Somethingcheeky and she is the hilight of my day! My husband loves her just as much. She is my first bird and loves affection! I think she lives to be loved and play. I highly recommend Somethingcheeky! You will love your baby!

Hi Quiana!
Bodhi is getting along great!! He has made 2 trips to the beach with us. He actually prefers his beach cage (the one I bought in Garner) to his much bigger cage at home.
He got pretty upset with me when the new cage arrived. I thought he would be happier having more room. The result was him getting a little nippy. He is not yet a big fan of my husband either and has been more aggressive towards him.
I am a member of a parrot forum and everyone says that conures are really loud. Bodhi is not loud at all. He does spend a lot of time out of his cage and sometimes may call out for me if everyone has left the living room. (He can't see the kitchen) He sits on his perch during homework and dinner time, so he is rarely alone, so that may be the reason.
I would love to send ya some pictures if interested of him hanging out with my son and daughter.
I am having difficulty getting him to eat different foods. We have tried eggs, chicken, peanut butter, steamed broccoli, watermelon, strawberries, almonds, and probably a few more. He nibbles and spits them out. I does however LOVE grapes and I could probably bribe him to say the Gettysburg Address for one small bite! I keep trying and will continue to offer new foods. Just wondering if you have any suggestions or remember any preferences he may have had.
Wanted you to know that Bodhi is getting LOTS of love!
Thanks in advance!
Robin & family

I got my maroon belly conure, Joyce from Something Cheeky a year ago last August. I had wanted a parrot since I was ten, (I'm 17 now) specifically a cockatiel, but I'm so glad that I went for a conure. She is absolutely everything I could have wanted.

Since I purchased her, she has become a cuddly, playful best friend and I'm amazed by how quickly she learns tricks. Clicker training has been amazing.

I'm so impressed with Quiana's birds, and a hand fed baby makes all the difference. I inspired my friend to buy a green cheek from her, and I would recommend her again.

Thank you!

Hi guys, I purchased my cinnamon green cheek from you last October I believe, and she is just the best little pet! She was so shy at first and very fearful of objects coming at her like toys or a camera, but boy has she warmed up! She is so cuddly and mellow and really likes people. I take her to visit my mom often and she'll climb up anyone who's close enough to do so. I named her Pooka and she responds well to her name and other little noises I make at her. She has definitely dominated our two cats which is a kick to see her chase them off the couch; although she can be shy, she is the dominate one of the group haha. Anyway, I just wanted to thank you guys for fitting me with this awesome little bird! I would love to get another someday from you guys again, take care.

We bought our first conure from Something Cheeky, a crimson bellied conure named Rio. He is the most spunky little critter and has fit into our family just like he was supposed to and he's finally getting some red feathers in (he turns 7 months on sept 18th) He's nippy of course but so loveable and loves to wrestle! and we love him nonetheless. So happy we bought him from them, they are very sweet and know their birds! I have a few conures on my list that I hope to bring home from them in the near future. They are awesome!

Did you call them? That's the best way to reach them as they do have kids and birds that they handfeed

I got my Yellow-sided GGC from Quiana on the fifth of December 2020. Even on the way home, which was a three hour trip, I could tell the little critter was definitely going to be a great fit for me and my family. I love "him" (I don't really know yet, still waiting on the DNA sex test results) so much!! He has found that pulling the LED twinkle lights from their sockets is great fun! He loves to wrestle and cuddle; he begs for head scratches by shoving his little head into my fingers which is really sweet. He's doing well with recall and potty training, and already gives kisses. I'm trying to teach him to talk, but I don't know for sure if he's picked that up yet. We have seven parakeets besides, and he loves to pick on them. I think it's a boy, because he asserts himself over the male 'keets and tries to impress the girls... 🤷🏻‍♀️. Anyway, I love him so much!! Qiuana was very helpful throughout the whole process, and the time and love she put into my baby bird definitely paid off!! Would recommend her to anyone! If my bird turns out to be a boy his name will be Miles.

Thank you so much, Something Cheeky!

Back in 2016 I purchased a male crimson bellied conure from something cheeky. They were great to deal with. Sadly my baby did pass before he turned a year old in December of 2016. I hope to get another one or a green cheek from Phil and Quiana soon. I just can't seem to get a free moment at work to give them a call to see what they have available. Hopefully soon. They are great people.
